Dale Earnhardt, Jr Freebies

Okay...to be perfectly honest I am NOT a fan of NASCAR. I don't get it! However, my brother-in-law is a fanatic about Dale Earnhardt, Jr. That's why I was SO excited to come across this freebie!

On the National Guard website, in the lower right corner is a box that says "Fan Club Sign Up." It takes about a minute to fill out the form. I did it less than a month ago and I got a box containing a Dale Jr window cling, keychain, and a hat. The hat is very nice quality - it does NOT look like it was free! I'm wrapping it up to give to my brother-in-law for his birthday!

Free Diapers - And $10!

I first read about this deal on Coupon Clippin' Mama, one of my favorite money-saving sites.

Arquest is a company that conducts diaper testing. They provide testers with 4, 20-count packs of diapers. Testers use the diapers, fill out a survey rating their performance, and give that information to Arquest. When the test period is over, Arquest pays the tester $10 for their time.

I thought this sounded awesome but wanted to check it out before posting about it. I called and got signed up. I spoke directly to Georgia, who collects the information for girls diapers. She was very throrough in explaining the program and what was expected of me. She gave me the date I'd receive my diapers and the day and time she'd call to get the first results.

My diapers came today! There are four packs, each clearly labeled to indicate in what order they should be used. Each pack has a survey with it. They do ask for quite a bit of feedback - opinions on leakage, flexibility, cover, etc. It is all very straightforward and I'd imagine each survey will take less than 15 minutes.

I'm already thrilled to have 80 free diapers - assuming they also send the $10, I'll be ecstatic!

You can call to ask to be a part of an upcoming survey. If they don't have any current openings for the gender/size you need they will take your name and number and call during their next survey. Call Cheyla at 1-888-DIAPER2, ext 634 for boys or Georgia at 1-888-DIAPER2, ext 646 for girls.
I'd love to hear if anyone else is able to participate in this!

Today's Trip To Target

My shopping trip this afternoon is a pretty good example of how I shop. I know a lot of people who walk out of a grocery store with $100 worth of stuff for $0.50. I haven't yet figured out how to do that! But with just a little time on my part I am able to make the most of the money I spend. Here is a breakdown of what I bought today:

Pull-Ups - $9.99
- $2.00 coupon
$7.99
----------

Original Total: $54.30
My total: $36.44
Nice, but not super impressive. I choose to look at it like this: I had to buy the Pull-Ups, Huggies, formula, and baby food anyway. If I wasn't couponing I would have spent $36.49 on just those items. Basically, I got all of the other items for free! As I get better at clipping coupons and scoping out sales my out of pocket totals will go down. For now I think I'm just off to a good start.
